On April 19, 2025, my 20+ year federal career as a technologist, informaticist, and enterprise architect came to an end. Over the course of my career, I served in the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the National Weather Service, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. I started in 1995 as a volunteer with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service before moving to Washington, DC in 1997 for my first career position.
Along with thousands of other civil servants abruptly cast aside in our Country, I’m figuring out what I do next. I wasn’t finished serving the public, helping agencies, nor building new technology. I have established my own company, Informatics FYI, Inc., and I am building the dream product I always wish I had on the job: Cambigo Workflow. As Dan CoCo, an in-jest nickname among cherished former colleagues, I’m just going to be me and explore where I take things.
